Unique, refurbished vintage walnut writing bureau.

 

The original stain and varnish on this bureau was worn and marked, so it has been refurbished and updated to show the lovely grain of the burr walnut, to contrast with the dark green finish.

 

Painted in 'After Dinner', a dark matt green from the Rustoleum furniture paint range, with the flap and drawers in an oil/wax finish to bring out the lovely original grain variation. The writing surface has also been treated with a clear matt lacquer for extra protection.

 

All handles, locks and hardware are original and all locks on the drawers and flap do work. The drawers are dovetailed and all run smoothly. The support arms come out as the flap is lowered.

This bureau dates from 1920's, so a few signs of its age and previous use as it is a vintage item, but refurbished to give a new lease of life, and is a very practical, and unique item of furniture.
