'Bergerac' solid French oak, rustic extending farmhouse table

The 'Bergerac' range was made in the South of France, exclusively for John Lewis. It is made from solid French oak that was specially selected for its rustic character and grain, retaining the natural knots, splits and grain variation so that each piece is unique. The oak was then further distressed by hand for an aged appearance.

A nice quality, French farmhouse table in very good original condition.

 

Traditional tenon and pegged joints are used on the the top, legs and frame so very sturdy. The oak has a distressed finish which was added at the time of making to add to the rustic character. Please see close up photos for this type of finish.

 

There is 1 extension leaf, extending the table to 2.3m (7ft 6in), and this also stores under the table when not in use.

 

Some small marks from age and use, but still very nice condition in the original colour finish.

 

The table top can be removed in 2 halves for transport and access if needed, but the legs and frame do not come apart.
